Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

Isolating a particular moment where I’ve felt loved? That’s not easy. To quote the Prime Minister in the movie, Love Actually, “Seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it’s not particularly dignified, or newsworthy – but it’s always there.”

For me, love actually is all around. (Not that I take it for granted, mind you. I am aware that not all of us are or feel loved. I am very lucky to know that I am, and I came to that knowledge through loss, though that’s a story for another day.) A recent sweet gesture is probably the best example of truly feeling loved.

My partner and I spent a weekend together which included wonderfully mundane things like chores. For him, acts of service is his loudest love language, one that took me a long time to interpret, so his taking care of me in that way isn’t what made me feel loved. This is:
