Not Just Cats & Grammar, Kids

Jane, rest in peace.

Posted by: Victoria on: 2011/03/09

I subscribe to The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation (the BBGP) email newsletter and have done so for quite a while. I look forward to each new edition.  My dog-eared copy of the BBGP sits proudly on my bookshelf within easy reach.  I consider Jane Straus a high priestess of American English.

The last newsletter I received was not the typical treasure trove of timely tips and tricks.  Sadly, it was a message from Jane’s husband, Lester Kaufman, alerting us readers to the fact that Jane had lost her battle against brain cancer.  Jane died on February 25, 2011.  Mr. Kaufman pledges that www.grammarbook.com will continue through his own efforts and those of the amazing team that assisted Jane.  What a brilliant legacy.

Jane, if you have a computer up there and can read this, thank you for your inspiration and dedication.  I shall remember you always.
